The first thing I did when I unpacked the Epox 8KHA+ was to check thze cooler on the KT266A northbridge to see what kind of heat-conductive paste was used.

After removing the heatsink I found a generous amount of silicon heat-conductive paste on the chip.
With a very sharp knife I very carefully scraped the silicone paste off of the KT266A northbridge chip and the heatsink.

The remainder of the silicone paste was then removed with a soft cloth and 95% pure alcohol.

To ensure better heat-transfer I then applied a thin coat of Arctic Silver II.
After putting the heatsink back on the chip and moving it around a little bit under pressure, it was fastened to the motherboard with the original retaining clips.
