The first thing I did when I unpacked the Epox 8KHA+ was to check thze cooler on
the KT266A northbridge to see what kind of heat-conductive paste was used.

After removing the heatsink I found a generous amount of silicon
heat-conductive paste on the chip.
With a very sharp knife I very carefully scraped the silicone paste off of the
KT266A northbridge chip and the heatsink.

The remainder of the silicone paste was then removed with a soft
cloth and 95% pure alcohol.

To ensure better heat-transfer I then applied a thin coat of
Arctic Silver II.
After putting the heatsink back on the chip and moving it around a little bit
under pressure, it was fastened to the motherboard with the original retaining
clips.
